NEW SPIN ON TY’S WORLD!

24th September 2009 - ACMI will be hosting the TY Zoetrope. For the last year Krome Animator John Aitchison has been working tirelessly with ACMI to create the TY the Tasmanian Tiger Zoetrope which will be housed in Melbourne.

This will be the third zoetrope exhibited at ACMI with many others around the world – however few are of the scale of the TY model. For those of you who aren’t sure what a zoetrope is, a zoetrope is a device that produces an illusion of action from a rapid succession of static pictures or in this case animated figures lit by a strobe light.

TY, Rex, Boss Cass, Dennis, Maurie, Bilbies and Mudcrab are all featured. The zoetrope and the spotlight on Krome is open at the ACMI building in Federation Square on Flinders Street Melbourne.
